My home hub shows wireless is working but will not connect to my one year old Mac book.

A BT help web site states no help available for Mac Users.

Wish I knew that before I subscribed.

So I am condemned to ethernet cable for 18 months or write off the cash I have spent?

I wish I could have my money back. I am bitterly disappointed after two weeks poor service from BT, and a lousy unsupported product.

I feel BT have broken their contract to provide me with Broadband since I simply do not get what I paid for.

My experience of BT in the past resonates with that of many of the comments made in earlier blogs. We have been frustrated by their use of overseas advisers who cannot respond to questions not covered by their written script nor speak English clearly .
Such advisers may be good for profits and the salaries of senior executives:they are not good for customers.

In contrast the service provided by BT on telephones is good.

ABSOLUTE CRAP!

Worst customer service I have ever dealt with and the only way you can get any response is to shout and get bad tempered.

Our broadband is unusable - so slow and I've been absolutely shocked by the way customer service treats you - I've been transfered, cut off, spoken to several different countries, had conflicting messages sent via text, different things told by different people.

I can't wait to swap to Virgin and would like to tear up my contract now. I will never deal with BT again after we can get rid of them!

Disabled customer sold 'no more than £19 PM for broadband' and as I don't use the landline much, less than 4 hours of calls a month - and hey - charged £87 for a quartly Broadband Bill, and £44 for 4 hours of local calls (max) It's nothing short of criminal theft - sheer robbery - no wonder BT are going under - GOOD

I have had 5 months of complete frustration from BT with a consistent broadband speed of 0.13 mb/s! Finally after months of ringing they tell me my line only has capacity for 0.5 mb/s! Something they could have told me at the start. Each time they have tried to 're-set' my connection - it is ok for a few days and then plummets back down to 0.13. I am now trying to get a MAC code from them so I can switch broadband provider but they still say it is something they should be able to fix. I am bascially paying for a service that was promised to be up to 8 mb/s and is just 0.13. ABYSMAL.

I can access my emails using Windows Messenger but if I try to connect through my btyahoo homepage I am now being requested to sign in and being asked for my username and password.. These it does not recognise. My partners' sub account is working normally.

Hi Callum,

Your problem with your BT broadband connection speed could be any number of things. To be honest though, it is unlikely to be a problem with BT. Probably not what you want to hear, but it is more likely to be an issue at your end.

The problem could be with (1) your computer or software (2) between your computer and your modem/router (3) between you modem and BT.

I suggest you cancel out the last option by using a <a href="http://www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk/" rel="nofollow">broadband speed checker</a>. Make sure you switch off all programs other than your browser and then run the test. If all appears well with your broadband speed test then it might be something closer to home - e.g. in your house.

If your broadband speed is good then it could well be the speed between your computer and the broadband modem. If you haven't already, try plugging your computer directly into the modem with an ethernet cable and see if things improve.

If this is ok. Check that you computer and browser are healthl. Delete your cache from the browser, clean up your hard-drive and try again. Also, while you are at it, check that your computer graphics card is working.

You should also consider checking that no-one else is on your broadband connection. If you have a wireless broadband router from BT broadband then make sure that you have your security features switched on and that under the 'Mac addresses' section your can account for 'only' your computers.
