I have been with the same ISP since 1994 paying a penny a minute for access. That provider has now evolved into Madasafish. I have only ever had one problem a few years ago and it was sorted very quickly. I think most problems people have is they want a pc to do want they want without them telling the pc how to do it. Get to know (and record) all your settings etc. and learn how a pc works. Don't phone expecting the provider to know every configuration of every pc it is not possible. I would recommend Madasafish without hesitation. I run a free helpdesk for local people and 99.9% of all problems are caused by the user not the service provider.

I've been with Madasafish for a fair few years now. Their customer service at the beginning was excellent, but sadly that has gone really downhill over recent years.

I also think that their 5GB limit is very poor nowadays; for the basic package 10GB (at least) would be more realistic.

The router Madasafish supplied failed a matter of a few days over a year from when I received it from them. I was told they'd only replace it if I signed up for another 12 months. That's not exactly what I'd call maintaining good customer relations!

I think it's time to move on...

Absolutely awful tech support (unable to provide me with login details which worked hence no static IP address, I literally gave up after hours on the phone). Traffic shaping (down from 2.5MBps to 1.7 MBps) and charges for additional data are terrible and they make you wait on the phone for an age on a revenue generating phone number to get through to a call center, I'm off, suggest you avoid ! I will consider my legal options to claw back some money from these cowboys.

I am going to drop the mad fish too after a couple of years. Their internet access is cut off far too often, speed has often been minimal, and I'm particularly fed up with the low download limit of 5GB, giving me an excessive £2 'penalty' when passing the limit ever so little. The price difference to the next level is almost £10 and I do not need 20GB. Why can they not offer a 10GB limit? I also find their spam protection poor/failing, and spam emails have been eating heavily into my monthly allowance. Although I've raised a ticket about the issue, the problem is still there. After reading the reviews above, though, I do not look forward to asking them for my migration code...:-(

MADASAFISH, the worse ISP you would ever want to sign up with, customer services do not know what they are doing, frequent problems with their service, poor speed, thank god my 12 month contract expired, I am with o2 now with double speed, half price, unlimited and with free support.

madasafish is still taking money for broadband services I have not got and are ignoring my emails, avoid at all cost, ****you have been warned****

I've been with Madasafish for about 18 months and am getting increasingly fed up with:

(a) their stingy (5Gb) download limit

(b) their increasingly frequent down periods (i.e. no connection at all)

and perhaps worst of all (c) the customer (dis)service department, whose vapourings run the gamut from evasive to meaningless.

I'm even beginning to think nostalgically of AOL, something I never thought would happen!

Changing ISPs is always a hellish nuisance but I may have to bite the bullet soon.

This really is a rotten fish, I have been with Madasafish for nearly 10 years and am now looking for another ISP, the service provided has nose dived in the last 6 months, I have had my email blocked, internet access disrupted and had my phone line cut off when they said I had gone over my monthly limit when I had actually used 20p of a £50limit.
Customer services score a big fat zero, I am so fed up, dealing with poorly trained customer "support" staff who have no concept of what the script that they are reading from actually means & have no idea how to help with even the most basic complaint.

This fish stew should be avoided at all costs, it's very surprising how a good ISP can slide, very quickly, to the sludge at the bottom of the ocean.

Dear CC,

Sorry to hear that you have been having issues with Madasafish. I have had similar experiences. I have been with Madasafish for over 2 years now and started to have major problems with accessing the internet - I kept on getting kicked off the line or the ADSL connection kept dropping.

I spoke to Madasafish about this and went through the process of error checking. They said it was probably my BT router playing up (supplied by Madasafish) - I can now confirm that is was indeed the router that was playing up.

Madasafish tried it on with me too. They said that I needed to sign up to a new 12 month contract to receive a new router - I thought that this was not on and declined the offer.

Rather than signing up for a new broadband contract, I sorted myself with a new wireless router/modem (a Dlink one) and configured that to Madasafish.

The set-up process was slow, but, once it was configured and I am glad to say that my broadband has been working ever since.

I figured that my BT modem had overheated (my lodger had left it on for a few days) and this is what caused it to fail. My suggestion, therefore, is switch off you modem/router when you are not using it - this will not only save electricity but help reduce the risk of your modem overheating and failing.

I hope this information helps - although I imagine you may have switched your broadband away from Madasafish in frustration.

Dear MG.

I am sorry that you have had a disappointing time with Madasafish and found it difficult to switch broadband providers. Please do let us know which broadband provider you end-up switching to, we'd love to hear.
